If not, no sweat. Welcome Week can get chaotic. But if you’ve passed through across the last few days, chances are you’ve seen Darian DeVries .

And that, dear reader, is by design.

DeVries and his Indiana basketball coaching staff practically dove into their community across the last several days. They helped students move into dorms midweek. DeVries spoke at a Monroe County YMCA event Thursday night, and the next evening at the department’s annual Traditions and Spirit of IU event. By Saturday morning, he was signing autographs and shaking hands inside Homefield at Tracks , the newly opened Kirkwood Avenue storefront for Indianapolis-based college brand Homefield Apparel .
