STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — U.S. News and World Report has released its “Best High Schools” rankings and two Staten Island high schools have made New York state’s top 100: Staten Island Technical High School and CSI High School for International Studies.

Using data from more than 24,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia, close to 18,000 schools were ranked.

Six factors were weighed, including performance on state assessments and college preparedness of their students.

Staten Island Technical High School has consistently ranked exceptionally in recent years, but this year gained a spot and ranked fourth in New York.

This impressive Staten Island high school also beat out the iconic Bronx High School of Science, which placed in the #5 spot.
