FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man has been arrested for hitting and killing a motorcyclist on Highway 168 in east central Fresno.

The California Highway Patrol arrested 33-year-old Julian Quinonez of Fresno on Friday.

The crash happened just before midnight Thursday near McKinley Avenue.

Officers say Quinonez was driving west in a Hyundai Elantra when he hit the back of 27-year-old motorcyclist Thawon Pho, throwing him off his bike and onto Quinonez's windshield.

Pho then fell off the Hyundai but was then struck by oncoming traffic. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Quinonez pulled over at first but then abandoned his Hyundai and ran away on foot.

Quinonez has been booked into the Fresno County Jail and faces multiple felony charges, including gross vehicular mansl
