FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are negotiating with a man suspected of attacking his wife to come out of a northwest Fresno apartment.
Fresno Police say officers responded to a domestic violence call at the West Pointe apartment complex on Blythe Avenue and Austin Way Saturday night.
Officers say the domestic incident involved a man in his 30s and his wife, who was able to escape from the apartment during the attack.
When officers tried to enter the apartment to make an arrest, the man approached officers with what investigators say was a "deadly weapon."
The officers were able to retreat safely and are now trying to get the man to come out of the apartment.
Authorities say the man does have a previous criminal record related to domestic violence.
