WESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — While summer may be coming to an end and pools are closing for the season, that didn't stop dozens of furry friends in Lewis County from enjoying a splash-filled afternoon of paddling and playing at the 2025 Lewis County Park Doggie Dip on Saturday.

Several canine companions of all shapes and sizes were in attendance, soaking up the "dog" days of summer.

Pet owners were asked to bring donations to help support the Lewis-Upshur Animal Control.

12 News spoke with an official from the Lewis-Upshur Animal Control who says events like this are not only a great way to celebrate our canine community, but the donations are also crucial to helping support local shelter animals.
