MARION, Ill. (WSIL) — A 49-year-old, accused of being a member of a Chicago Street Gang, was taken to jail and faces multiple charges after a traffic stop in Marion on Saturday.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said their deputies pulled over a vehicle after disobeying a traffic signal at Boyton and Court streets on August 23, at 2:03 p.m.

After pulling over the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said a deputy saw a loaded firearm magazine on the passenger’s lap. The driver was identified as a 51-year-old from Harrisburg and the passenger identified as Petre Washington, 49 of Marion.

Authorities said a loaded handgun magazine was found in the vehicle and a 9mm gun was found on Washington during a search.
