A Columbia County jailer was in serious condition at an Augusta hospital after a woman charged four deputies trying to escort her from her cell.
Deputy Jailer Sabrina Dodgen, 33, was taken to Doctors Hospital early Wednesday after hitting her head on the floor, seizing as she lost consciousness, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
Dodgen, an eight-year veteran of the agency, joined Sgt. Reggie Crike, Staff Sgt. Jimmy Gaines and Deputy Jailer Matthew Kitchens in trying to move Samantha Williams, who authorities arrested late Monday after she reportedly left her 12-year-old daughter at an Evans shopping center.
