This year’s race featured a new location and is estimated to have the largest turnout yet, with nearly 1,000 runners participating. To some, it might just be any ordinary race, but for many who attend, it's a celebration in remembrance of one runner's life and legacy.
Cameron Bean was an avid and gifted runner. For him, running wasn't just a hobby: it was everything.
"It was his passion. It was his life,” Lisa Bean, Cameron’s mother, says. “People who knew him and met him–I think they felt that.”
Cameron’s father, Steve, says this was evident.
“[He] was just bigger than life,” Steve says. “Everything he did, he did it 110%.”
Cameron’s life was cut short September 21, 2015, when he was struck and killed by a car while he was out for a run.
