SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Sunday morning is starting with partly sunny skies in the valley and a few light showers in moving Northward through the Foothills and Sierra. The Valley will likely stay dry today with mostly sunny skies in the afternoon and highs in the mid and upper 90s, but storms will begin to develop around noon in the Sierra. Similar to yesterday they will move Northward and some may be capable of producing heavy rain, frequent lightning, gusty winds, and small hail. Outdoor activity in the Sierra this afternoon is not advised, but if you are going to be outdoors, be sure to have an alert system and seek shelter as storms approach.
With monsoon moisture remaining in the region, more afternoon storms will be possible in the Sierra Monday through Wednesday.
