ABERDEEN, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Firefighters are battling a new wildfire that began overnight in a remote area northwest of Aberdeen.
The Split Top Fire has engulfed up to 4,000 acres of grass and brush 14 miles northwest of Aberdeen, near the Split Top and Arco-Minidoka roads, according to the Bureau of Land Management . A containment percentage or time is currently unknown.
BLM said that while structures are threatened by the fire, no evacuation orders have been issued yet. The fire has already engulfed one outbuilding.
