BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - A tropical wave moving toward the Lesser Antilles in the southern Atlantic may develop into an organized tropical system by the middle of next week. From there, speculation abounds, but this may be something to watch for Gulf states within the next 10-12 days.

Conditions are most favorable for development the next 48 hours or so while it heads towards the Windward and Leeward Islands. After that, a general westward movement is expected, where warm sea surface temperatures but relatively unfavorable upper level winds will persist, meaning its journey may well end in the southern Caribbean.
