FARGO — When Angus Flanagan put the finishing touches on his Bobcat North Dakota Open title Sunday at Rose Creek Golf Course, he made more than himself happy. His financial institution also approved.

“Yeah, the bank of mom and dad,” Flanagan said. “I think my dad wants to get some hats made with the ‘Bank of Mom and Dad’ on it.”

Flanagan shot a 4-under 66 to claim the $10,000 first-place check plus his fee for PGA Qualifying School this fall of $4,800 will also be covered by Bobcat Company. He finished three shots ahead of former North Dakota State golfer Nate Deziel, who turned in the best effort of his pro career.

Deziel finished his Bison eligibility in 2023, but this was his first full season on the Dakotas Tour. His previous best three-round tournament was a tie for 14th in mid-Jul
