STEPHENS CITY — The Frederick Water Board of Directors met last week for the first time since June, with three of the five board members being new appointees.
During the lengthy meeting, time was spent getting the new members caught up to speed. Topics of discussion included the county's groundwater status, a recent Frederick County Planning Commission decision, and Stephens City's agreement with Frederick Water.
Recently, the Frederick County Board of Supervisors voted to appoint three new members to the water board. The terms of former vice chairman Martha Dilg, former treasurer Tom Simon, and former member J. Stanley Crockett all were set to expire on Aug. 31. Crockett had served on the board since November 2006, while Dilg and Simon were both appointed in May of 2015.
