BLOOMINGTON ( 25News Now ) - Bloomington Police have arrested a man for allegedly placing the abortion pill mifepristone in his girlfriend’s body without her knowing, ending the woman’s pregnancy.

The McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged Emerson Evans, 31, of Normal with two counts of intentional homicide of an unborn child.

Prosecutors said in a court document that police were called about 5 p.m. Friday to an apartment in South Bloomington. Officers said they saw a woman in the bathroom crying and a large amount of blood. The fetus was reportedly found in the toilet.

The woman said she was about seven weeks pregnant, and Evans reportedly told her he wanted her to terminate the pregnancy.
