MAYFIELD – The Mayfield Police Department has charged a 14-year-old boy with first-degree assault after he allegedly shot and seriously injured an 18-year-old during Friday night’s football game between Mayfield and Graves County high schools. Mayfield Police said in a Sunday news release that a 14-year-old male from Fulton has been arrested and charged with assault in the first degree after allegedly being involved in the shooting Friday during the fourth quarter of the Battle of the Birds football game. The suspect shot 18-year-old Jordan Riley of Farmington, who suffered a serious gunshot wound to his arm and upper torso.
