BUFFALO, N.Y. — Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced Friday that a Buffalo man has been arraigned on a murder charge in connection with the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend inside a motel room in Amherst.

Daniel Negron, 37, was returned on a warrant and arraigned before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan on an indictment charging him with one count of second-degree murder, a Class A-I felony.

Prosecutors allege that between July 25 and July 26, Negron intentionally caused the death of 27-year-old Emme-ya Sims inside a motel on the 1900 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard. Sims was found dead on July 29.

That same afternoon, Negron was arrested in Erie, Pa., following an unrelated incident. He was held in custody there on local charges as well as a fugitive warrant from
