As students across Anne Arundel County prepare for the first day of school on Monday, bus drivers said they’re considering a possible strike.

Nearly 200 Anne Arundel County school bus drivers and aides are set to meet Monday for a strike authorization vote.

“It would definitely be an inconvenience, but it’s something that I would be willing to do as a way to show support for the school bus drivers. Kind of like a solidarity,” said Mo Czubba, an Anne Arundel County parent.

In an interview earlier this week, superintendent Mark Bedell told 11 News school buses and routes are staffed and ready to go.

“Zero vacancies for bus drivers and zero vacancies for our alternative vehicle drivers. I don’t have a lot to complain about right now,” Bedell said.
