DENVER (KDVR) -- The Pinpoint Weather team is watching for showers and thunderstorms in Denver weather this week.

Saturday and Sunday were the beginning of a stretch of days with storm chances in the forecast. On Monday, chances for storms increase in areas of the Denver metro, and temperatures will be below average in the 70s and low 80s all week.

Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Liz McGiffin said the storms will bring some much-needed moisture and will help cleanse the air after weeks of dry, hot and smoky conditions.

Storm chances continue through the week and could impact after-school outdoor activities. Here's what to expect of the week ahead.
