FLAGSTAFF (AZFamily) — Reports of an armed man at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff are unfounded, officials reported late Monday morning.

Just before 9:30 a.m., NAU students attending their first day of classes received an alert about a possible person with a gun who entered Cline Library on Knoles Drive. The message indicated that it could be a “hoax incident,” but NAUPD officers were taking precautions and evacuating the building.

Students were cleared from the library, and police searched the building but found no evidence of an armed suspect. The building was reopened shortly before noon.

All other campus activities and operations are continuing as usual.
