After brief back-to-back stints with the Buffalo Bills, former Michigan State tight end Matt Sokol was released on Sunday, ahead of Tuesday’s NFL roster cut deadline.
Sokol signed with the Bills on July 22 and was released on Aug. 12 before being re-signed two days later. He played 75 total snaps across three preseason games with Buffalo on offense and special teams.
Now, Sokol will hope to catch on with a practice squad somewhere as he continues his journeyman career around the NFL.
As a Spartan, he played in 52 games with 22 starts at tight end, totaling 31 catches for 348 yards and two touchdowns from 2014-2018.
After going undrafted in 2019, Sokol signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. He was waived during roster cuts but spent time on the team’s practice squad before moving to the
