LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A motorcyclist killed in a northeast Lincoln crash on Sunday has been identified.
Jackson Gartee of Lincoln died in the collision with an SUV at 90th and Adams streets, according to a Lincoln Police Department crash report.
The crash happened just before 5:30 p.m.
The report says the driver of a northbound SUV, a Lincoln woman, was stopped at the intersection.
She saw the motorcycle coming but thought it was far enough away that she could safely cross Adams Street, according to police.
So she entered the intersection, where the motorcycle crashed into her.
LPD said Gartee was speeding in the moments before the crash.
Witnesses estimated that he was going 80 mph, according to the crash report.
