EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - East Lansing Police Chief Jen Brown issued a statement Monday commenting on “significant disruptive incidents” that occurred over the weekend.

According to Chief Brown, police responded to incidents on Ann Street Plaza and throughout downtown East Lansing over the weekend during an "otherwise typical return for students."

The statement comes after video footage shared online shows police tasing a person.

In the statement, Brown said:

“It was a very busy weekend with incidents that posed significant safety risks to our community members, including students, downtown businesses and ELPD officers.
