GOSHEN – In what has become a preseason tradition, the Goshen boys’ soccer team hosted its scrimmage on Monday at the Coliseum.

Some Section 9 heavy hitters, including Newburgh, Monroe-Woodbury, Middletown, Warwick, Wallkill, Cornwall, Washingtonville, Our Lady of Lourdes, and Pine Bush, also participated. Each team played four 25-minute scrimmages.

The scrimmages provide an opportunity for teams to get a look at the competition. The soccer community is tight-knit, and the event is also about camaraderie and spending time together. Goshen has hosted the scrimmages since 2019.

Mid-Hudson News Sports videographer Michael Heit covered the event.
