MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A 2-year-old was wounded in a shooting Sunday night in Memphis.

The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. at a home on Semmes Street, not far from Barron Avenue.

A man told police he went to the home after he was invited there for a barbecue.

Once there, the woman who invited him was fighting with her sister.

The man was approached by the woman’s brother who told him to get back before pushing him.

The man pushed back and the brother pulled out a gun and fired shots, hitting the man’s 2-year-old daughter.

The child was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in non-critical condition.

The suspected shooter was detained by police at the scene.
