SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A one-year moratorium in Sioux City auto sales, rentals, and service locations could be coming off city books four months early.
On Monday, the four-to-one vote had city council members approve the first reading of an ordinance change that would make that happen. Mayor Bob Scott was the one to vote against it.
In January, city staff, along with several other groups, were directed by the council to work on finding an effective way to control the growth of auto sales locations. Council decided that a one-year moratorium on car lots would be the best way.
