LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - One of the Raywick firefighters who was in the hospital after a bad crash has died, according to a post on his son’s Facebook page.

“‘The uncertainty has come to a close,’ the wait is over, the pain will never recede,” the post said. “It’s easy to be upset, it’s easy to not understand it’s okay to be upset, it’s okay to be sad... Dad has finally been called home. He is now with the Lord.”

The post called Brian Hatt a lover, saying his grandbabies were the light of his life and he would be there in an instant to help someone.

Hatt and Leonard Winkler were responding to a call when a tanker truck they were in dropped off the right shoulder of the road, causing the edge of KY 527 to collapse.
