HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - The body of the man believed to be responsible for the disappearance of Heather Teague has been exhumed at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.

Police say Marty Dill killed himself days after Teague went missing, before police could arrest him.

Tuesday will mark 30 years since Teague disappeared from Newburgh beach.

Her mother, Sarah, has fought tirelessly for answers for the last three decades.

14 News spoke with her Monday, before we heard of the development with Dill.

“Heather was my firstborn. She is my firstborn. I knew she would make a difference from the minute she was born,” said Sarah.

After 30 years, multiple investigations, open-records requests and lawsuits, she’s still searching for answers.
