COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. -- The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved significant changes to the town's beer and liquor laws Monday night, marking the first major update in over 40 years.

The new regulations remove the distance requirement between beer-selling establishments and schools or churches, and allow beer sales at locations with video games, dancing, and pool tables. Additionally, the cap of three liquor stores has been changed to one license per 10,000 residents.

"Honestly, if I knew that two more licenses were going to be voted on and approved, I don't think I would ever have done this," said Jason Guff, the owner of the newly opened Guff's Wine and Liquors. "I would have never left where I was."
