Liberty faced an obstacle in 2024 that most Texas football programs do not run into, certainly at the 5A level. The roster shrunk to as few as 28 players despite attendance numbers in line with other schools in the area.

Following the 2021 area-round loss to Aledo, the Redhawks were unable to pick up a win for almost three years. Liberty’s 2022 and 2023 campaigns were winless, while 2024 appeared to be reaching the same destination.
