NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police (RISP), along with multiple city and town police departments, will be conducting a Labor Day DUI enforcement campaign, according to a social media post from the Newport Police Department.

Police departments of Newport, Portsmouth, Middletown and Jamestown will work with RISP to establish a “high-visibility enforcement campaign” for identifying and arresting impaired drivers.

The campaign will run from Friday through Monday in areas in Newport County.

The Providence Police Department Breath Alcohol Testing Mobile Unit (BAT) will also be utilized in this effort.
