Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was killed in the back garden of a home in a countryside town.

Police were called to a home in Whiterow Park at about 9.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday following reports of ‘disorder’.

A 39-year-old man, who was in the back garden of the property, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

A 61-year-old man from Trowbridge and a 46-year-old man from Hilperton have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A close friend of the victim said his family were in shock.

He told Metro: ‘He was 100% a gentleman. He wouldn’t even say boo to a goose.

‘I grew up with this man. He will be missed so much.’

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
