KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - City of Knoxville leaders invited the public to a town hall to discuss future plans for Chilhowee Park Monday. The city has a plan in place to sell a portion of the park to Emerald Youth for a sports complex.

This comes after the city just awarded Muse Knoxville the nearby Jacob Building for the future.

It’s not a secret many people in East Knoxville are frustrated with the city’s plan.

“How in the world can I trust Emerald Youth Foundation with 12 acres of land?” an East Knoxville resident said.

Another person added “Emerald Youth Foundation does great things for kids and youth. I just don’t know why they need all that land.”
