LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Longmeadow Public Schools began their school year on Tuesday amid the arrest of Scott McGinley, a middle school librarian, on charges of distributing child pornography.
McGinley, who worked in the Longmeadow district for nearly a decade, was arrested earlier this month after an investigation by the FBI Nashville, which used an encrypted messenger app to uncover his activities.
"Unbelievable... totally shocking... I never thought it would happen," said Sonya Kayode, a grandmother from Springfield. "Kids are there, I have a grandson myself and he is in middle school."
The FBI Nashville contacted Springfield's FBI headquarters after an employee in Tennessee conducted an online investigation. This led to a search of McGinley's home, where devices were confiscated
