SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman spoke to the media today for the first time since redshirt freshman C.J. Carr was named the starting quarterback. It was his weekly press conference before an upcoming game.
When asked about the factors that went in to deciding the starter between Carr and redshirt sophomore Kenny Minchey, Freeman said it was very close and he had to rely a little bit on his gut to make the final decision.
He said he feels very good about the decision and he said Minchey handled it just like he thought he would. Freeman said Minchey was very disappointed but he came to practice and got back to work. He said Minchey has put the team first and is practicing as hard as ever. Freeman says he told Carr and Minchey that they will need them both this sea
