As John Cena prepares for retirement from professional wrestling, the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes seemingly carries the torch as the company's top star.

After successfully defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41 for the championship last year, Cody lost it to Cena at April's WrestleMania 42.

However, Cena's record-setting championship reign lasted briefly, with Cody able to regain the WWE Championship by defeating Cena earlier this month at SummerSlam.

While many love seeing this second reign as champion, a former WWE employee said he's not fond of seeing Cody as champ again.
