LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) crews will start blasting operations on Interstate 264 Tuesday around 2 p.m.

This is part of the $130 million widening and improving project of I-264, otherwise known as the Watterson Expressway, and U.S. 42, also known as Brownsboro Road.

The blasting operations will be near mile marker 22, in the area next to the Watterson East off-ramp to Brownsboro Road, officials said.

There will be intermittent rolling roadblocks on the east and west lanes of the Watterson Expressway, and on Brownsboro Road near the bridge over the Watterson Tuesday, KYTC said. Drivers should expect around 20 minute delays.

The project is designed to widen the Watterson Expressway at the Brownsboro Road exit to better increase highway capacity and safety,
