LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Nebraska State Patrol is reminding drivers to stay sober behind the wheel as its “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign continues through Labor Day.
The goal of the campaign is to reduce the likelihood of serious injury or fatal crashes related to impaired driving or other dangerous driving behaviors, according to NSP.
“Our troopers have been working hard throughout the state to maintain safe roadways all summer long,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “As we close the summer travel season, there are still several high-traffic events going on.”
Troopers have arrested nearly 40 people for driving under the influence and stopped 55 people for going 100 miles per hour or more within the first 10 days of the campaign.
