VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — The Vanderburgh County Board of Commissioners has passed an ordinance allowing golf carts to be driven on roadways within major subdivisions in Vanderburgh County.

During Tuesday's meeting, the Board of Commissioners voted to pass the ordinance.

The ordinance outlines specific roadways where off-road vehicles and golf carts are prohibited. It also establishes rules for operation, including licensing, insurance, and equipment requirements.

The ordinance would prohibit anyone under the age of 16 from driving a golf cart or riding in one unless accompanied by an adult. Additionally, it would require golf cart owners or drivers to carry liability insurance and avoid sidewalks and walking paths.
