AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We’re getting a new look at the ongoing construction at the Academy of Richmond County to modernize the historic school.
Officials say they’re trying to balance preserving the historic elements of the school while also bringing it to the modern era.
And while it may look the same on the outside, the main entrance to the ARC building is just weeks away from welcoming back students after a two-year wait on construction.
After nearly a century of little change, Richmond County officials finally decided four years ago that structural change was needed for a building that opened its doors on Walton Way back in 1926.
