A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 4:54 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 5:30 p.m. for Eastern Curry County and Josephine County and Jackson County.
Wind gusts of up to 30 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches) are likely.
"At 4:54 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm over Schroeder Park, or near Grants Pass, moving east-southeast at 5 mph," according to the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible."
Locations impacted by the alert include Grants Pass, Cathedral Hills Trails, Schroeder Park, Tom Pearce Park, Merlin, Harbeck-Fruitdale, Redwood and Whitehorse Park.
