SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A Flash Flood Warning was issued Tuesday for northeastern San Diego County.

The National Weather Service notified the public about the weather alert at 4:11 p.m. It is in effect until 7:15 p.m.

Weather officials say between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen due to thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Those warned areas could see an additional 0.25 to 0.75 inches of rain.

The flash flooding may impact areas including Southeastern Anza, Highway 74 between Anza and Palm Desert and Santa Rosa Mountain, per NWS.

Flash flooding in creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses can be life-threatening.

Drivers should not attempt to cross flooded roads, while campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
