The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Coconino County through 6:45 p.m. Aug. 26.
At 2:44 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Life-threatening flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in low-water crossings, creeks, normally dry washes and roads.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Paria Canyon, Lee's Ferry CG, Paria Beach, Lee's Ferry, Lees Ferry, Paria River Slot Canyon, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Grand Canyon National Park and the Navajo Reservation.
This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers: Colorado River and Paria River.
