IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for parts of Imperial County, including sections of Interstate 8, as severe thunderstorms move through the region. Drivers are urged to use caution when driving along I-8 Sunday evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning and Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of southwestern Imperial County, California, until 7:15 p.m. Sunday. NWS says the warning includes portions of I-8.

The Flash Flood Warning impacts just under 500 residents, according to NWS. The weather service advises anyone in the area to move to higher ground and avoid walking through or driving through flood waters.
