Connecticut's state university food service workers picket for 'livable' wages

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — State university food service workers picketed on Central Connecticut State University's campus on Tuesday amid negotiations with their food services provider for higher and "livable" wages.

The union contract expired last month between the university's contracted food service provider, Sodexo, and negotiations between the two groups are ongoing. According to CCSU's website, the demonstration was scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The demonstrators from Central, Southern and Western Connecticut State Universities were all employees of Sodexo.
