CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Police in western Massachusetts are urging drivers and motorcyclists to exercise caution this Labor Day weekend following a series of recent motorcycle crashes.

The call for increased safety comes after a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with another vehicle in Holyoke on Monday afternoon.

This incident is part of a troubling trend, as motorcycle deaths have risen by 38% over the past decade, according to the National Safety Council.
