AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) - Augusta leaders gathered for a walkthrough of one of the area's oldest schools on Tuesday.

The Academy of Richmond County unveiled significant work throughout the school to modernize the 100-year-old building on Aug. 26. Some of the features include 40 brand new classrooms, expanded front office space, and historical markers of significant ARC grads.

"I came in half way through the construction project and so it was wonderful to pick up where Jason Medlin the former principal had left it and it was great to see the project through," said Dr. Travis Wiggins, Principal Academy of Richmond County.
