IRONDALE, Ala. (TRIBUNE) -- Irondale Mayor James D. Stewart Jr. easily held off a challenge from Birmingham businessman Ken Effinger to retain the mayor’s office for a second term on Tuesday night, August 26. The victory was announced soon after polls closed with Stewart winning decisively 2270 to 700.
Speaking to The Tribune, Stewart offered comments about his vision for the future of the city moments after his victory was announced.
