Incumbent Mayor Frank Brocato's run as Hoover's chief executive is coming to an apparent end.
With 93% of the votes reported, former Hoover police chief Nick Derzis was leading Brocato with 56% of the vote (9,172 votes) to Brocato's 44% (7,322 votes).
Council Place 1: Robin Schultz defeated Tanveer Patel, winning 65% of the vote (10,304) to her 34% (5,451).
Council Place 4: Khristi Driver was reelected with 61% of the vote, defeating former councilwoman Donna Mazur and Christian Coleman.
Council Place 5: Incumbent Derrick Murphy was also reelected. He received 62% of the vote to Steve Lawrence’s 38%.
As of the latest financial reports going into election day, Brocato raised $216,026.00 and spent $158,987.48, while Derzis raised $426,927.00 and spent $143,066.54.
