Detectives investigating an assault in east Manchester have issued an image of two people they want to speak to.

The image shows a man and a woman, both seen with their thumbs up.

Greater Manchester Police says the pair could have important information to help with its investigation .

It follows an assault that took place in the Eastlands area over the weekend.

GMP is investigating reports of an assault that took place between Citylink - the walking route from the city centre to Co-op Live and the Etihad Stadium - and Holt Town.

The incident took place at around 12.05am on Sunday, August 24, GMP says.
