MUSKEGON, MI - It was a busy day Tuesday in Muskegon when two cruise ships were stopped in the port simulataneously for the first time in years.

The Pearl Mist and Le Champlain arrived in the morning to the Mart Dock harbor – the latter mooring several hundred yards out into the water.

Between the two large ships, 349 visitors took off on guided tours in Muskegon, Holland and Grand Rapids.

In Muskegon, tourists explored the Muskegon Museum of Art, had lunch at Topshelf Liquor Bar & Pizza and visited Pere Marquette Beach. Tours were provided by the Muskegon Tour Company.

“I got my feet in the water,” said Judy Kane, who was cruising with her husband Jim Kane, from Cooperstown, New York. “Your sand here is so soft compared to the sand by the Atlantic Ocean.”
